Premier League: Chelsea vs Tottenham Match Preview

Where they Stand: Chelsea currently stands at the ninth position in the 2023-2024 Premier League table with 48 points to their tally. They are currently six points behind the sixth place Man United having played one game less. On the other hand, Tottenham currently sits at the fifth spot with 60 points and is seven points behind fourth-place Aston Villa, having played two games less than the Midlands-based side. 

The Preview: The London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to be played at Stamford Bridge promises to be a closely fought contest as both the teams would be going for all three points. The last time around the Blues beat Spurs by a scoreline of 1-4 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, aided by the hosts' Ange-ball style of play. However, it's obvious to say that nothing much will change from Spurs' approach to the game. So, it has all the makings of an enthralling derby. 

The Expectations: Chelsea would still want to chase that potential European spot under Mauricio Pochettino with few games left till the end of the season. They do have slight momentum on their side after recent performances. Spurs can still give Aston Villa a bit of a scare as far as the last Champions League spot is concerned. But Ange Postecoglou's side will need to bring on their A-game in the later stages of the season.
