The Matter: Wolves have had a tough run in terms of VAR decisions in the 2023-2024 Premier League season so far. The West Midlands side has been on the receiving end of several harsh calls made by the officials since their opening fixture of the campaign against Man United at Old Trafford. However, this time around a late equaliser scored by Wolves' captain Max Kilman against West Ham United was disallowed under controversial circumstances.

How it Unfolded: In a crucial Premier League match in terms of the European qualification spots, West Ham United managed to come back in the game and lead by a scoreline of 1-2. However, in the dying stages of the match, the hosts won a corner and Kilman managed to get his head on it and directed it towards the top left corner.

Wolves player's celebration where halted when the goal was disallowed as their substitute Tawanda Chirewa was judged to be standing in front of West Ham's goalkeeper Lucas Fabianski in an offside position and impending his line of vision.

The Cusp of It: The disallowance of the goal has created a scathing debate in the football world. From an intellectual point of view, Fabianski was never really stopping that goal, even if he had seen it as it was so far out of his reach because he was standing in the middle of the goal and somewhat from the replays it does seem like he sees the ball coming in from the corner and Kilman's header.

The old Gold's players and manager Gary O'Neil seemed in utter disbelief over the decision. The way the league's table stands currently, the very point may cost them a potential European qualification spot at the end of the season.
