How It Began: After spending nearly one billion pounds on transfer proceedings leading up to the 2023-2024 Premier League season, Chelsea somehow didn't appear to be a club worth that much on the field after they struggled in the initial phase of the league to stitch together consistent performances under Mauricio Pochettino.

How It's Going: With nearly a month left for the ongoing Premier League season to end, the Blues are finally able to show at least some improvements in their performances, and on occasions, they have looked like a team that is close to gelling together immensely. Even though certain individual performers like Cole Palmer have carried them through the difficult phase, Pochettino can look forward to building his team around Palmer and bringing out consistent efforts from them.

The Expectations: Chelsea currently stands at the ninth position in this season's Premier League table with 47 points to their name in 31 matches so far. They are three points behind the sixth place Newcastle United, having played one game less than the Toons. Mauricio Pochettino would be eyeing a decent end to the season by his boys by winning as many as they could in their remaining seven fixtures. If they manage to do so and get into Europe, it will be an achievement that looked highly unlikely for most parts of their 2023-2024 campaign.
