Man United's initial approach for young Barcelona midfielder rejected

Man United recently suffered a setback in their approach for the Wolves' forward Matheus Cunha. It looks like the Red Devils have faced another blow in the transfer market, and it is in their approach for Barcelona's talented 21-year-old Spanish midfielder Fermin Lopez. As per 'Express' and as quoted by 'Transfer News Live' the Red Devils have their initial offer for the player rejected by the La Liga club.

With pressure looming on Erik ten Hag to deliver stronger performances in the upcoming 2024-2025 Premier League campaign, the midfield certainly stands out as an area that needs to be strengthened at United.

With players like Casemiro, and Sofyan Amrabat, not proving to be enough to challenge for the top spots, a young and energetic player like Fermin Lopez could really make the midfield tick for ten Hag alongside players like Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay. It remains to be seen, if the Red Devils go all out for the player this summer transfer window.

Man City to remain inactive in the summer transfer window barring a condition

As per 'ESPN', the reigning Champions of the Premier League Man City are likely to remain inactive in the summer transfer window. They can possibly head into the next season without making any new additions to their current squad of players.

However, there's a catch that might alter this scenario for Pep Guardiola's side. 'ESPN' further laid out that City would only dwell into the transfer market if any of their regular or key players would want or 'ask' to leave the English club as the new season approaches its start.

Chelsea's Conor Gallagher not keen on joining Aston Villa

Conor Gallagher emerged as one of the shining lights from Chelsea's hierarchy in the 2023-2024 Premier League campaign. He alongside players like Cole Palmer pretty much revived the Blues' season under Mauricio Pochettino during the latter stages of the recently concluded top-flight campaign.

However, Gallagher's contract with the Stamford Bridge-based side will run out in June next year. The English midfielder has been linked with the rival English club Tottenham Hotspur. Aston Villa emerged as another club reported to be interested in acquiring Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. However, as per 'Football Insider', the 24-year-old is not thrilled by the idea of joining the Midlands-based side and might reject a potential move to the club.
