The Brewing Discussion: Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has been linked with the Liverpool job as the Red's current Gaffer Jurgen Klopp prepares for a departure at the end of the 2023-2024 Premier League season. After Xavi Alonso decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool has been linked with Sporting CP's boss Ruben Amorim as well. But, De Zerbi's Premier League forte could land him a head start in the race. 

The Protagonist's Wish: In his recent interviews Roberto De Zerbi has seemed quite neutral on questions related to his candidature as the next Liverpool manager. The Seagulls' boss has optimistically tried to reflect that he's focused towards the job at hand. However, he has kept the window of opportunity open for himself by not committing anything long-term regarding his managerial position at the Sussex-based Premier League club as of now.

The Expected Outcome: While Roberto De Zerbi's current contract at Brighton darts till June 2026, history reckons in this kind of situation the bigger clubs do end up getting the man they deem fit for their managerial reign. Also, reports suggest, there could be a release clause placed inside the Seagulls' manager contract raking around 12 million pounds. However, the Ruben Amorim saga could turn out to be the only saviour for Brighton if so they wish to keep De Zerbi at the helm.
